Benefits
Why have your fixtures professionally installed
Hung at the right height
We set pendants and chandeliers to suit the table, island or stairwell, and check the height with you before finishing.
Secure mounting
Heavy fixtures need a box and bracket rated for their weight. We check this first and tell you if anything needs upgrading.
Assembly taken care of
Crystal chandeliers and multi-arm fixtures can take hours to put together. We do it for you.
The installation
What the installation involves
- 01
Check the fixture and the location
We confirm the fixture's size and weight, the ceiling height and what is in the ceiling or wall now, so we bring the right mounting hardware and equipment.
- 02
Make it safe
The circuit is switched off at the panel and tested before any wiring is touched.
- 03
Remove the old fixture
If you are replacing a light, we take the old one down carefully and set it aside for you.
- 04
Assemble the new fixture
Chandeliers and multi-light fixtures are assembled, including crystals, arms and shades, following the maker's instructions.
- 05
Mount and connect
The bracket is secured, the chain or cord is set to the height you want, and the wiring is connected, including the ground.
- 06
Test and tidy up
We check the fixture is level and working, clean up and take the packaging away.

Good to know
Planning Your Fixture Installation
What We Install
Depending on the existing mounting and electrical conditions, our service may include:
- Ceiling light replacement
- Pendant lights over kitchen islands or dining tables
- Chandeliers
- Wall sconces
- Selected decorative and contemporary light fixtures
- Multiple fixture installations during one visit
Replacing a Light or Hanging a Heavy Chandelier?
The difference matters.
Replacing an existing fixture: If the existing mounting point, wiring, and support are suitable, the job may be relatively straightforward.
Installing a heavy chandelier: The mounting support must be suitable for the fixture's weight. Ceiling height and safe access also affect the work.
We review these details before confirming the scope and price.
What About High Ceilings and Stairwells?
High ceilings and stairwells require additional planning, suitable access equipment, and careful consideration of working conditions.
Please tell us the approximate ceiling height and share a photo showing the full installation area. We will review whether the project is suitable for our service before scheduling.
Will You Need to Buy Anything Else?
Not necessarily, but it depends on the fixture and existing installation.
Before your appointment, please share the make and model of the fixture if available. We can then discuss whether additional mounting components or other materials may be required.
How Is the Price Determined?
The estimate depends on factors such as:
- Number and type of fixtures
- Existing mounting point and wiring conditions
- Fixture weight and assembly requirements
- Ceiling height and access
- Whether the work is a replacement or a new installation
- Additional materials or work, if required
Our online estimate is an initial guide. We confirm the scope and agreed price before starting, and discuss any additional work with you before proceeding.
Requirements
An existing light fixture and electrical connection where the new fixture will go.
Clear space under the fixture and access to the electrical panel.
Compatibility
Most ceiling and wall fixtures fit a standard electrical box. Heavy chandeliers need a box rated for the weight, so check the weight on the box or product page.
Look for a CSA, cUL or ULC mark on the fixture. It shows the fixture is certified for use in Canada.
If you plan to dim LED fixtures, the fixture and the dimmer need to be compatible.
Installation time
A simple ceiling light swap is usually quick. Large chandeliers with many crystals take longer because of assembly. We give you an expected time when we confirm your quote.
Safety
The circuit is switched off at the panel and tested before any wiring work.
We check that the box can carry the fixture's weight, and if we find an existing wiring problem we explain it before going further.
Help Us Quote Your Project
For the most useful estimate, please send:
- A photo of the existing fixture or mounting location.
- A photo or link to the new fixture.
- The approximate ceiling height.
- The number of fixtures.
- Whether you are replacing an existing light.
Can I supply my own chandelier or pendant?
Yes! Given the wide variety of chandeliers and pendant lights available, we recommend choosing and purchasing the fixture yourself to match your style, preferences, and budget. Please share the product details or photos with us in advance so we can review the installation requirements.
Can you install a heavy chandelier?
Some installations may be suitable, depending on the weight, mounting support, ceiling height, and safe access. We assess these details before accepting the job.
Can you install a light where there is no existing fixture?
No. Our service is limited to replacing or installing light fixtures where an existing fixture and connection are already in place. We do not install new fixtures in locations without an existing fixture.
Can you replace several fixtures in one visit?
Yes, for suitable projects. Include the number of fixtures and photos in your request so we can estimate the full job.
Do you assemble chandeliers?
Yes, including crystal chandeliers. The number of crystals affects the estimate, so choose it in the calculator.
What happens to my old fixture?
We take it down carefully and leave it with you.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes. There is a 2-item minimum per visit, so one or two fixtures are priced the same.
